Mutton steam roast is all time favorite recipe for the meat lovers. Most people make steam roast on weekend parties and other special occasions. Mutton Steam Roast Recipe: Required Ingredients

•    1 kg mutton (cut into large pieces)
•    Salt to taste4-6 tbsp. vinegar
•    A 2-inch piece of ginger
•    1 tsp red chili powder
•    1 tsp sautéed cumin seeds
•    1 tsp whole spice powder
•    4-6 green chilies
•    4-6 plums
•    2 tbsp. lemon juice
•    Cooking oil (as needed)

Steam Roast Recipe: Cooking Instructions

1.    Clean and wash the mutton pieces carefully and let them dry completely.
2.    Apply vinegar and salt onto the mutton pieces and keep in fridge for at least three to four hours.
3.    Add cooking oil in a frying pan and heat it for three to four minutes. Then fry the mutton pieces in hot oil until they turn golden brown. Thereafter transfer fried mutton pieces on a kitchen towel or newspaper and let them cool down.
4.    Wash the plums, soak in half cup of water for about fifteen minutes and then grind along with ginger and green chilies. Add red chili powder, cumin seeds, whole spice powder and lemon juice into the ground plum mixture and apply this spice onto the mutton pieces.
5.    Cook the mutton pieces in a steamer (at low heat) until they become soft and tender.
6.    Serve hot with tomato ketchup or yogurt chatni.
