Spicy and crispy pakoras are one of the most popular Asian snacks and are preferred most during the holy month of Ramadan. To make spicy pakoras, seasonal vegetables (such as spring onion, cabbage, zucchini, spinach and methi etc.) and spices are added to gram flour and then the mixture is deep fried in the shape of little dumplings.
Many people also like meat pakoras. You can have vegetable or meat pakoras with tomato ketchup, sweet chaat chutney or yogurt chatni. Here is an easy recipe for green chili pakoras…

Pakoras Recipe: Required ingredients
6-8 Green chilies
4 tbsp gram flour
½ tsp amchoor powder
1 tbsp white cumin seeds
½ red chili powder
Salt to taste
¼ tsp minced garlic
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp ajwain
Fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)
Cooking oil for frying
Pakoras Recipe: Cooking instructions
Add salt, amchoor powder, cumin seeds, garlic, whole spice powder, turmeric powder, coriander leaves, ajwain and 2-3 tbsp. water in gram flour to make a fine paste.
Make cut in the mid of chili, and fill the paste in it with the help of a small teaspoon and then close it again. Prepare the remaining chilies as well.
Keep the prepared chilies in fridge for ten minutes.
Now stir two cups of gram flour. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, a pinch of baking soda and little water and mix well to make thick paste.
Add cooking oil in a frying pan and heat it for 3-4 minutes.
Dip initially prepared green chilies in the gram-flour paste.
Now add them in the hot cooking oil one by one.
Deep fry until the chili pakoras turn golden brown.
Serve hot with naans or pitta breads and yogurt chatni.
