Kashmiri Biryani Recipe: Required ingredients
1 kg rice
125 g ghee or cooking oil
Salt to taste
3 onions (chopped)
2 tbsp. whole spice
125 g melon (remove the skin and cut into small pieces)
125 g papaya (cut into small pieces after removing its skin)
75 g khubani (apricot)
125 g almonds
5-6 garlic cloves (crushed)
A one-inch piece of ginger (crushed)
1 kg yakhni
Kashmiri Biryani: Cooking instructions
Clean and wash rice thoroughly and submerge in fresh water for one hour.
Take cooking oil in a pan and heat it for 2-3 minutes.
Add chopped onion and fry till it turns golden brown.
Then add whole spice and crushed ginger and garlic, cook well.
Now add initially-prepared yakhni.
When yakhni comes to boil, add rice and salt, let it cook over high flame.
Add the dried and fresh fruits just before you steam the rice.
After giving ten minutes steam, remove the rice from heat.
Serve delicious Vig biryani with yogurt raita and salad.
