Kofta Curry is an appetizing dish that is enjoying world-wide popularity due to its delicious taste and aroma. In this recipe, koftas (meat balls mixed with spices and onions) are fried or baked and then added into the spicy gravy.

Usually the koftas are made with chicken, beef, lamb as well as fish. Today, I am going to tell you fish koftas curry recipe that is well-known in South-India and Bangladesh. It can be served either with steamed rice, Kashmiri pulao, garlic naan or plain naan.

Required Ingredients: Indian Fish Kofta Recipe

  • 1/2kg Fish (Cut into chunks)
  • 3 tbsps Corn Flour
  • 2 tsps Lemon Juice
  • 1 Green onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Egg White
  • ½ tsp Ginger paste
  • ½ tsp Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsps White Vinegar
  • 1 cup thinly chopped Cabbage shredded
  • 3 tsps Sugar
  • 3 tbsps Tomato Catchup
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup Cooking Oil

Cooking Instructions:

  • Remove all the pin bones from fish chunks and put it in the chopper.
  • Add onion, one tbsp. corn flour, egg white and lemon juice and then blend all the constituents thoroughly.
  • Make meatballs of the prepared mixture.
  • Take one and a half cup water in a pan, add koftas and cook it for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Take half cup oil in another pan and heat it.
  • Add ginger and garlic paste and fry for one minute.
  • Add cabbage shredded and fry once again.
  • Add two tbsp. white vinegar, three tsp sugar, tomato catchup and koftas, let it cook over light heat.
  • Mix two tbsps corn flour in little water and add into the kofta curry.
  • Turn off the stove when gravy reach to required consistency.
  • Serve with naan or rice.

Note: Since the spices need time to develop their flavors in meatballs, try to make koftas a day in advance.
