Zafarani Mutton Karahi Recipe: Required Ingredients

1 kg lamb meat (cut into small pieces)
2 tbsp. garlic paste
1 tbsp. ginger paste
5 g zafaran (submerge in 5 tbsp. fresh milk for one hour)
2 medium onions
5-6 tomatoes
½ cup well-beaten yogurt
1 tbsp. red chili powder
2 tsp salt
A pinch of turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 black cardamoms
3-4 green cardamoms
1 medium-sized bay leaf
1 ½ cup cooking oil
3-4 green chilies
Dry methi to taste

Zafarani Mutton Karahi Recipe: Cooking Instructions

Take cooking oil in a frying pan and heat it over medium flame for 4-5 minutes.
Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, small cardamoms and black cardamom and fry for few seconds.
Add chopped onion and fry it till turns golden brown.
Then add ginger-garlic paste and turmeric powder, cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring.
Now add tomatoes, salt and red chili powder and let the spice cook for few minutes.
Add chicken and yogurt, cover the pan with its lid and cook over low flame till the oil separates.
Now it is the time to add zafaran mixed in milk. Add dry methi and green chilies as well.
Cover the mutton karahi once again and steam it for seven minutes.
Mouth-watering “Zafarani Mutton Karahi” is ready, remove it from stove, transfer in a serving bowl and serve hot with paratha or chapatti.
